Zeena Dhalla is a premier Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor in the Orange County, California area. She is currently the Founder of Vertical Pilates, a studio that focuses on improving posture and alignment. Zeena graduated with a degree in Communications from one of the top ranked Universities in the US, Northwestern University. Her fitness education includes her Pilates course from BASI (Body Arts and Sciences International) where she received certifications in the Mat, Reformer, Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair and Ladder Barrel. She has her Personal Training certification from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), and her CoreAlign certification from Balanced Body University. She has also completed coursework in Integrative Flexibility from NASM, and is also trained as a Wellness Coach.
Zeena has worked for years as a mentor and instructor for many other fitness professional having served as a manager in the fitness industry for many years. She was the owner/operator of the Athletic Club for Women in Newport Beach, California where she grew the Pilates program there by over 200% during her ownership period. She then went on to serve as Pilates Director for the Orange County Division of YogaWorks, the premier Pilates/ Yoga studio in the Orange County area. She has taught courses in sales and business development for fitness professionals who are starting out and looking to grow in the health and fitness field.
Zeena has been featured as a writer and fitness model by OC Squeeze, OC Metro, OC Register, and on the television show Daybreak OC. She was recently featured in Pilates Style Magazine as the Author and Model for ‘Pilates for Baby Boomers’. Zeena has served on the Board of Director for the National Association for Women Business Owners. Her philanthropic responsibilities include fundraising for organizations such as HelpUsAdopt.org, Relay for Life Cancer, and A Little Bit of Sunshine (funding Orphanages in India and Nepal). Since becoming a mom to her daughter that she and her husband adopted from Kolkata in 2008, Zeena has focused her career on maintaining balance between work and motherhood. Her clients love her for being tough and demanding on their form, but gentle and encouraging in her coaching. She believes that fitness is far more than fitting into a tight pair of pants, and that acheiving wellness starts from within. "The body achieves what the mind believes" is the motto in her studio and she wants everyone to walk out feeling stronger, leaner and most importantly, confident in themselves.
